Preparing the Formula

Do I Boil the Water?

We recommend using boiled water so any harmful bacteria are killed. Once boiled, leave the water to cool for about 20 minutes before adding the powder. Make sure to read preparation instructions on package.

FAQ: INGREDIENTS

Lactose- What is it and how is it benefitting my baby?

Lactose is the natural carbohydrate found in milk, including human breast milk. It is commonly used in baby formula because it provides a source of energy and nutrition for growing babies.

Lactose is a complex sugar made up of glucose and galactose. It is easily digested and absorbed by the baby's digestive system, making it an ideal source of carbohydrates for infant formula. Lactose also helps in the absorption of calcium and other minerals in the formula, which are important for healthy bone development.

Another advantage of using lactose in baby formula is that it promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the baby's gut, which can aid digestion and boost the baby's immune system. Additionally, lactose can help promote healthy weight gain in babies and is less likely to cause dental caries (cavities) compared to other sugars.

Overall, lactose is a safe and effective carbohydrate source for baby formula, providing important nutrition for growing infants. However, some babies may be lactose intolerant, in which case alternative formulas may be necessary. It's always best to consult with a healthcare provider or a pediatrician to determine the most appropriate formula for a baby's individual needs.

DHA- Docosahexaenoic Acid (Omega-3 Fatty Acid)

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is a type of omega-3 fatty acid that is important for the development of a baby's brain and eyes. It is commonly added to baby formulas to ensure that babies receive adequate amounts of this important nutrient.

DHA is found naturally in breast milk and is also added to many infant formulas to help support the cognitive and visual development of infants. Studies have shown that infants who consume formulas supplemented with DHA may have improved cognitive development compared to infants who consume formulas without DHA.

It's important to note that not all baby formulas contain DHA. If you have concerns about your baby's nutritional needs, it's always best to consult with your pediatrician or a qualified healthcare professional.n answer

Prebiotics or Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS)

Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) are added to some baby formulas as a prebiotic ingredient. Here are some potential benefits of GOS in baby formulas:

  1. Promotes the growth of beneficial gut bacteria: GOS are not digested by the baby's body but are fermented by beneficial bacteria in the gut. This fermentation process can help promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, such as Bifidobacteria, which may have several health benefits.
  2. Reduces the risk of infections: The growth of beneficial gut bacteria, such as Bifidobacteria, can help strengthen the immune system and reduce the risk of infections in infants.
  3. Improves stool consistency: GOS may help improve stool consistency in infants, making it easier for them to pass stools and reducing the risk of constipation.
  4. Enhances cognitive development: Some studies have shown that GOS in infant formulas may help improve cognitive development, including memory and learning abilities.
  5. Improves bone health: GOS may also enhance calcium absorption in infants, which is important for bone health and growth.

It's important to note that not all baby formulas contain GOS, and individual results may vary. If you have concerns about your baby's nutritional needs, it's always best to consult with your pediatrician or a qualified healthcare professional.

Organic Whey Protein

Organic whey protein is a type of protein that is derived from organic cow's milk. It is a high-quality protein that is easily digested and absorbed by the body, making it an ideal ingredient for baby formulas.

Organic whey protein is obtained by separating the liquid whey portion of organic cow's milk from the curd. The whey is then pasteurized and processed to create a protein powder that is added to baby formulas to provide a source of essential amino acids that are important for the growth and development of infants.

Organic whey protein is considered to be a high-quality protein because it contains all of the essential amino acids that the body needs to function properly. It is also easily digested and absorbed by the body, making it an ideal protein source for babies.

Organic whey protein is often used in baby formulas because it is a safe and effective way to provide infants with the nutrients they need for healthy growth and development. Organic whey protein is also considered to be a more sustainable and environmentally friendly option, as it is produced using organic farming practices that prioritize the health and welfare of the cows and the environment.
